Dadonghai:
Dadonghai is the bay closest to the city center, and the beach is always bustling with activity. There are plenty of entertainment options nearby, making it a convenient choice. Although the water quality might not be the best, its excellent location and free access make it a great value for a fun day. Sleep in, then head to the beach for a sunbath to start your beautiful vacation mood.
Luhuitou Scenic Area:
It takes about 20 minutes by bus from Dadonghai to Luhuitou Scenic Area. Have a leisurely lunch before heading there. Surrounded by the sea on three sides, the scenery is breathtaking. Climbing the small hill in the park takes less than half an hour, and you'll have a panoramic view of Sanya. The iconic Luhuitou sculpture at the summit, inspired by a beautiful love legend of the Li ethnic group, is one of the symbols of Sanya being called the "Deer City". At sunset, you can also enjoy the stunning view of the sky filled with twilight glow, and the night scenery is also impressive. Entry is by ticket. Park opening hours: 7:30-22:00; no entry after 21:30. You can purchase tickets for the electric cart to save energy on the uphill and downhill journey.
First Market:
It takes about 30 minutes by bus from Luhuitou Scenic Area to the First Market. In the evening, visit the largest seafood market in Sanya, the "First Market", and buy some fruits and seafood to take back and enjoy. The First Market is vast, frequently visited by locals, and also offers snack stalls, handicrafts, and almost everything you need in one stop. If you're staying somewhere without cooking facilities, you can ask the processing shops in the area to cook the seafood for you. Prices are not low, but haggling is possible.
Tianya Haijiao:
It takes about 40 minutes to drive from the city center to Tianya Haijiao. This beach is dotted with many uniquely shaped rocks, many of which are inscribed with characters by ancient and modern literati. The two most famous inscriptions, "Tianya" (End of the Earth) and "Haijiao" (Edge of the Sea), are the reasons behind the scenic area's name. Many couples take photos here and make vows to each other at the "end of the earth". Besides the famous sculpture garden and Lover's Tree, there are many other spots within the scenic area where you can capture beautiful photos, such as Love Square. Bring your camera to capture those beautiful moments. The scenic area is open from 7:30 to 18:00. It's recommended to go early to avoid the crowds and enjoy a better experience.
Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone:
From Tianya Haijiao to Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone, it takes about 40 minutes by bus. Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone is not only beautiful but also a Buddhist holy site. It's a sacred place to approach Buddhist culture and pray for the well-being of family and friends. The most famous attraction within the scenic area is the Guanyin of the South Sea, which stands majestically on the azure waves of the South China Sea. This three-in-one statue is impressive and a pilgrimage site for many Buddhist believers. The Nanshan scenic area is large, so it's best to plan your route before exploring. There are also paid shuttle buses available within the park. Recommended route: Erfa Gate - Gold and Jade Guanyin Pavilion - Nanshan Temple - Thirty-Three Guanyin Hall - Guanyin of the South Sea. Ticket price: 129 yuan/person. Opening hours: 8:00-17:30. Free incense is provided at each Buddhist site within the park for worship.
Coconut Dream Corridor:
From Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone to Coconut Dream Corridor, it takes about 40 minutes to drive. Coconut Dream Corridor is a seaside scenic boulevard that stretches 20 kilometers along the bay. One side is bordered by dense tropical forests, while the other side is a resort area. After driving back from Nanshan to the city center in the evening, take a stroll along Coconut Dream Corridor, enjoy the sunset by the sea, and treat yourself to a cup of Qingbuliang, a specialty snack in Sanya. It's truly a delightful experience.
Wuzhizhou Island:
After arriving at the Wuzhizhou Ferry Terminal, take a ferry to the island. Ferries to the island operate from 8:00 to 16:00, and ferries leaving the island operate from 8:30 to 18:30 (subject to weather conditions on the day). There is a ferry every 20 minutes. Wuzhizhou Island is one of the most beautiful islands in Sanya, boasting beautiful scenery and a tropical ambiance. The seawater is very clear, and there are many romantic attractions such as the Lover's Bridge, Wave Watching Pavilion, Seaside Promenade, and the "HAPPY LOVE" tree trunk sign. There is also a wide range of water activities available, including jet skiing, parasailing, big and small flying fish, snorkeling, and scuba diving, all at reasonable prices. The island is also equipped with various service facilities such as convenience stores, restaurants, and hotels, but prices are relatively high. It's better to bring your own necessary supplies and meals if convenient. Ferry hours to the island are from 08:00 to 16:00, and ferry hours leaving the island are from 08:30 to 18:30, with specific times subject to changes due to sea weather conditions. Remember to bring sunglasses, swimwear, and sunscreen. Diving is a popular activity that everyone wants to experience, but be sure to consider your physical condition.
Sanya Qianguqing Scenic Area:
From Wuzhizhou Island to Sanya Qianguqing Scenic Area, it takes about 40 minutes to drive. If you return early in the evening, you can also visit the Sanya Qianguqing Scenic Area and watch a performance of "Sanya Qianguqing". The performance is divided into six acts and lasts about an hour, telling many historical and legendary stories of Sanya through artistic means. You can deeply experience the culture and folk customs of Sanya. There are also other interesting small performances worth watching. There are three performances daily, starting at 14:00, 17:00, and 20:00. When purchasing a performance ticket, you also get a ticket to the scenic area, so you can arrive early and explore the Colorful Zoo within the scenic area as well.
Yalong Bay:
Rated as one of China's eight most beautiful bays by "Chinese National Geography" magazine, Yalong Bay boasts an annual average sea temperature of 22-25.1°C, making it a year-round swimming destination. The seawater is clear and the sand is white and fine. With a cluster of luxurious villas and resorts, it is a prime vacation spot. Tropical Paradise Forest Park:
This park fully displays the unique landscapes of the tropical rainforest. You can explore the rainforest, ascend to the peak for a panoramic view, and experience the thrilling high-altitude zipline, as well as visit the Jiangguolong Suspension Bridge. The park also features the country's only panoramic sea view glass walkway and the colorful staircase, both of which are extremely beautiful. Remember to wear pants for the zipline for ease of movement. It is recommended to book tickets online ahead of time to avoid long queues during peak periods.
On the fifth day, it is recommended to choose either tax-free shopping or the water park, as visiting both in one day would be too rushed and you wouldn't be able to enjoy either fully.
CDF Sanya International Duty-Free Shopping Complex:
You can take bus 34/35 to the final stop or take a taxi. CDF Sanya International Duty-Free Shopping Complex is the world's largest single duty-free shop, with a shopping area of nearly 70,000 square meters. You can enjoy duty-free shopping privileges without leaving the country, making it a haven for shoppers. Here are some points for attention: Some guests staying at large hotels in Haitang Bay can enjoy a 95% discount with prior reservation, which needs to be made one day in advance; You must have a departing flight/ferry/train ticket and bring relevant documents; Download the "Offshore Duty-Free" app, where some discounts are even bigger than those in physical stores, and there are also coupons available; It is recommended to "pay in full and pick up the goods", and then go through the procedures at the airport to receive a tax refund directly to your bank account; Paying only the duty-free price requires picking up the goods at the airport, which can be troublesome and involve long queues; There is a limit on the amount you can spend, currently set at 30,000 yuan per person, including up to 12 pieces of cosmetics (fewer for other large items, specific details can be found on the Offshore Duty-Free official website), so it is recommended to plan your purchases accordingly.
Sanya Atlantis Waterpark:
It is about a 5-minute drive from Haitang Bay Duty-Free Shop. Atlantis Waterpark is built to international standards with advanced equipment and numerous slides. There are thrilling rides, areas suitable for children, and exciting dolphin and sea lion shows. Waterpark operating hours: 10:00-18:00, ticket exchange window hours: 9:30-17:00; Remember to bring your own towels, slippers, swimsuits, goggles, waterproof phone bags, and sunscreen. It is best to wear a safer swimsuit as some rides have strong impacts and there is a risk of exposure; Must-try rides: the TikTok-famous vertical water slide for an amazing experience through a shark tunnel; Poseidon's Plunge and Leap of Faith are popular thrilling rides.
